Start with the application

A useful spice specification begins with the food system—not a generic ingredient name. Define the application, process conditions, target flavor, dosage, and expected shelf life.

Translate culinary language into measurable requirements

Document form, mesh or cut, color expectations, heat range where applicable, moisture limits, treatment expectations, origin requirements, allergen statements, and lot documentation.

Align the release process

Confirm the sample approval pathway, change-control expectations, certificate-of-analysis scope, and the people authorized to approve commercial lots.

A specification should make procurement, quality, culinary, and operations more confident. Maison De Spices supports this alignment during program onboarding.
